Thank you to everyone that attended Friday’s gal Thank you to everyone that attended Friday’s gala premiere of my sound art installation “Dead Hand Switch” at @defsup. It’s been a long journey to get this piece of music into the world, but I’m grateful to have had the opportunity to not only showcase the composition but also to create an immersive environment and exhibit to accompany the work.
I’ll make another post soon that shares more about the actual piece itself, but in the meantime I encourage anyone that would like to experience the installation to do so anytime before the exhibition closes on January 11th 2025. Even if you attended the premiere, there’s a lot of auditory nuance to the piece that is best heard in a quiet environment so I’d recommend coming back for another visit!
A big thank you to the @ontarioartscouncil for funding the composition, and to @voxpoptbay for coming on board to commission the piece. Additional thanks to the team at @blueprintsaudio (Mack Davis, Erin Collins, @dwij_trivedi) for supporting me through the various parts of the exhibition’s development.

Join me at the gala premiere this Friday, November 8th at 7pm to experience it firsthand. @voxpoptbay

My good friend @alexminemusic just put out his fir My good friend @alexminemusic just put out his first album “True Joy” last week. It’s a collection of instrumental songs that he’d been developing over a number of years, and I was asked to lay down guitars on many of the tunes. It’s a pretty wide range of musical styles, but hey - that’s my thang! It was a really fun project to be let loose on (outside of the work we do as part of Nadjiwan), and really exciting to hear the final mixes after having competed my guitars during the pandemic. Songs for the Holidays was an annual project that ran from 2012 to 2021. Every year, I would partner with a different musician(s) from the Thunder Bay music scene to record a holiday cover song, just for the fun of it. All of the musicians, engineers, studios, etc, volunteered to be a part of the project, with the knowledge that once the project amassed 10 songs the collection would be officially released with all proceeds going to the RFDA (Thunder Bay Regional Food Distribution Association).

We hope you enjoy these songs that made us feel warm for a decade.

You can stream/download the entire collection on all platforms.
